Proverbs 11:14

SAFETY Freedom from ACCIDENT

You may have heard it said "accidents happen!" indeed they do; however, in most cases they don't just happen, they are actually, in fact, constructed as part of a sequence. Three basic elements usually exist in the construction of an accident.

An accident is:

"An 1.) unsafe condition or situation, that is compounded or aggravated by an 2.) unsafe act or event, which terminates, usually suddenly, with 3.) undesirable consequences, e.g. "injury, damage, embarrassment, etc."

The Source of Most Accidents

Ignorance --- Carelessness --- Negligence --- Incompetence --- Misconduct --- "STUPIDITY"

Examine the accidents below to see if you can identify or detect the unsafe condition! and the unsafe act!

Identify, Avoid or Abate the unsafe condition or situation

Eliminate or Prevent the unsafe act or event

Mitigate or Alleviate the undesirable consequences 

Signs --- Posters --- Decals --- Banners

HAZARD the potential for an ACCIDENT to occur

CAUTION an ACCIDENT could occur

WARNING an ACCIDENT will occur

DANGER exposure to an ACCIDENT

Murphy's Law # 1 : If something can go wrong, it will!

The wheel the squeak and the grease

1. If a wheel squeaks then the equipment was not maintained or operated properly.

2. At the squeak of one wheel, check them all.

3. The wheel that doesn't squeak is the one that falls off.
